The Hope Behind HereToEncourage

HereToEncourage Creating and Cultivating

HereToEncourage was born out of a difficult transition. It began as a journaling project when I was seeking inspiration, hope and strength. I was coming out of a situation that was confusing and hard. I thought of other women in similar spots, wanting something solid and grounding, seeking purpose, needing renewal.

Have you been in that place? I want to share what ultimately inspired, soothed and sustained me. I was faced with an opportunity to know the truth about myself and who God is, and what He has done for me. God was there to listen and light the way to courage, wisdom, insight, power, peace and purpose.

You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence. ~Acts 2:28

Those hard times brought me to a firm foundation for living. I began to truly trust in God's love, discover the gifts He has given me, and create a life that is filled with a sense of purpose. I can focus on Him and enjoy living each day in new and different ways than before, no matter what life brings. I have a stronger faith, hope and a life that I love.

A renewed sense of meaning and purpose is what carried me through and beyond! The following personal convictions and belief in Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord are at the heart of my vision for HereToEncourage and life coaching, and I want to share with you this hope in my own words.

I invite you to read on! Then enjoy the resource links below.

♥ Christ Is Our Savior

There is nothing like having a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Important: it is only by the grace of God, and His gift to us of faith, that any of us do. It's not something to boast about, it's something for which to be humbly and eternally grateful. What does it mean, to have a loving, committed, perfect, patient and all-powerful Savior?

♥ Needing A Savior

To fully understand this, it's necessary to know what plagues this world, hinders humanity, wears us out, imprisons and defeats us, harms us and hurts others:  Trying to live on our own terms, in our own power, for our own glory. This is a simple definition of "sin" and it's pervasive. We try to live out of our own strength and spirit, but we can't escape it. In fact, we were born in it. We see the effects of sin all around us, and we experience the pain of ours and others'. The good news is there is a way out that doesn't depend on us at all!

♥ Change of Heart

What we need is to be revived and made fully alive again in our eternal spirits, healed and empowered by God with new and renewed hearts. Jesus purposefully put Himself in our place, willingly entered into bondage and died to secure our freedom from the sin that harms us and keeps us trapped–and ultimately, leads to death. He–creator of the universe–came to earth and took this work on as His mission and was victorious, because He is the only one that could do it. He arose alive from His tomb as He promised his followers. His purpose was to to rescue us, to redeem us, to give us His life–because He loves us. What an amazing God.

♥ What Jesus Christ Has Done = Good News

Jesus Christ, as both God and man, lived a perfect, sinless life–something we could never do. And so He could secure our freedom from the grip of sin on our spirit, hearts and minds so that we can have a full life–starting now, here on earth, and continuing eternally with God after death! Out of His divine mercy and compassion Jesus did absolutely everything necessary for us to have full freedom, hope and a new life. This freedom would be impossible for us to attain on our own, no matter how hard or in what ways we try on our own–and we do try. But we can let go of that striving and put all of our faith and trust in Him.

♥ The Gift of New Life Beginning Now

No matter who we are or what we have ever done or will ever do, this freedom and true life is the gift God gives to us in Christ. We do not have to earn anything or work for it in any way whatsoever! This is the heart of the gospel–the "good news" and essence of "amazing grace." And so for the glory of Christ and out of love for us, God grants to anyone who puts their faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior, life that lasts forever in His loving presence, beginning now. We can truly rest in Him, and have a real peace and joy that is forever life-changing. This is powerful!

♥ Daughters Loved and Cared for by God

Jesus Christ is in heaven praying for those who belong to Him. In Him, God clears us, renews our hearts and spirits, takes us in, calls us His daughters and prepares a place for us to be with Him forever when we die. Trusting in Christ as our Savior, we can actually be certain of this when we belong to Him (the Bible was written just for that purpose.)  It says that through Christ we are adopted into the family of God, and Jeus himself promised that nothing can ever snatch us from His hand. He sent the Holy Spirit to live in our hearts as evidence of that promise, as our Teacher, Counselor and Guide. That's eternal freedom, security, wisdom and true peace no matter what life brings.  So we have everything we need, it's all from Him.

♥ The Power of God's Word

The Bible details these the incredible love story God wrote to us about Christ and God's great eternal plan. The books of the Bible span hundreds of years but fit together beautifully, containing words of love and promises that God has revealed to us, and even fulfilled. This incredible book is both vivid, historic and timeless, and available in current, clear translations that make it personal and understandable to read. It includes fundamental truths for life, and how to live well. The word of God (the Bible) is "living and active," effective and powerful–it actually changes our hearts.

♥ One Last Thought

What we know and believe–the truth in the Bible and in the real person of Jesus Christ–sets us free to live great and meaningful lives. Faith in Christ is about treasuring a precious relationship with a powerful, merciful, loving God. This God existing in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, invites us to know Him, talk with Him, be with Him and Him within us. Jesus claimed to be God, on more than a few occasions, in multiple ways, clearly and unmistakably. He went to the cross and gave His very life for us, knowing us by name. God is our FatherChrist is Our Savior! His is the ultimate LifeStory. What has He done in your life? What could He do?

"I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep." -the words of Jesus Christ, John 6:9-10

♥ Thank you Lord Jesus

"Jesus, I marvel that You choose to lavish Your divine love upon me. The qualities of Your love are evidenced by Your ongoing forgiveness toward my wandering heart, undeserved goodness through Your faithful provisions, and the marvelous eternal future You've prepared for me. Father, words cannot adequately describe the depth of my gratitude that You did spare You own Son, but gave Him up for us all, and You graciously give us all things. The greatest reassuring promise that I ponder…is that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation can separate me from Your love that is found in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen." See Romans 8:38-39. -A prayer from the iGoogle widget "Daily Prayer to Jesus" by  www.dailyencouragement.net

For in him we live and move and have our being. As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.' ~Acts 17:28
